Dr. Preetham Suresh, MD

Dr. Preetham Suresh serves as Associate Dean of Simulation Education for the School of Medicine, Clinical Professor and Vice Chair of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Anesthesiology, and Staff Anesthesiologist at the VA, San Diego.  His clinical interests are regional anesthesia techniques including ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks and neuraxial anesthesia.  His research interests are in optimizing procedural skill acquisition through technology enhanced simulation while capitalizing on 3D printing, sensor enabled simulators, motion tracking and augmented reality.  Outside of medicine, he loves going out to eat, spending time with his wife and 2 kids, and mountain biking in Penasquitos canyon.

Dr. Charlie Goldberg, MD

Charlie Goldberg is a professor of medicine and clinician educator at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he’s been for 25 years.  He practices as a hospitalist at the Jennifer Moreno VA Medical center in SD and is the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education @ UCSD SOM.  His broad interests include teaching about all aspects of clinical care, the creation of web (Practical Guide to Clinical Medicine, Catalog of Clinical Images, Digital DDx) and app-based tools to support clinical reasoning and physical exam skill development, communication around challenging topics, inter-professional learning and promoting innovation in health care.  He has held many course development and leadership roles in both UME and GME, including creation of the clinical skills and problem-based learning curriculum at UCSD, functioning as an Academic Community Director, and serving Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine training program.  He delights in spending time with his wife, Teddy (a developmental-behavioral pediatrician) and their two boys, Aaron 19 and Max 18.
